Hi, Guys! Not much to report since I only got back yesterday and naturally, Joe neglected to get me some names, etc. However, I HAD to let you know that our baby bass are now firmly installed into Blue Cypress! Folks took lots of photos, but you know me and the computer vs. photos! If I can get some hard copies, perhaps my host can get them up for me. The FWC is out shocking today to see how they are doing! Naturally, the shocking is not gonna' help 'em, but they need to know if they are still in the areas where they were deposited, or so I was told. I was also told that these fish will not move more than 1 kilometer in the first year. I am getting an education from the FWC! There is supposed to be a news story in the Vero Beach Press Journal Spports Section, written by Ed Keller. If you are a computer whiz, you can probably see some pics and read his story. He is supposed to send me a copy, but it has not arrived yet. There are some photos at the shop, if youwant to and can stop by. I had several e-mails while I was gone, and I will be leaving again tomorrow for Alabama. My son was in a motorcycle accident and Mom has to check on him. Everyone tells me that he is OK, but I gotta' see for myself. Will be back early next week, so if you have any questions , need anything, please call the shop. Joe or Bea-Bea will be glad to help you out. I want to thank all of you who e-mailed the FWC when I asked. There had to be a whole lot of them from what I have heard, and I know it made a difference. You all are terrific. Till next week, good fishing and God Bless. |

I could not wait to tell youabout our trip to the new FWC hatchery near Webster, Florida. We went today and got a wonderful tour fromsome very intelligent folks! We learned about the process from the egg harvesting to what feed is used, to how they are progressed until they get big enough to use, like they are going to do here next week. AND, the most wonderful part of this is that they are actually going to introduce between 117,000 and 120,000 babies instead of 65,000! I am thrilled. Ofcourse, no telling how many will secumb to the jaws of other things, but thismany bass is really a shot in the arm for BlueCypress. Unfortunately, I will be gone, but if you are in the neighborhood and want to come out, as long as you stay out of the way, I think it might be a really neat thing to watch. We are trying to get some news media here, but with out TV stations all the way in West Palm, it is a long shot. Just wanted to let you know what is happening and I know you will be as tickled as we are. Till my next report, good fishing and God Bless. |

I got this blankedy blankedy report all typed and pushed the wrong button and lost it! YUK! However, I have some wonderful news, so I am trying again! Our 65,000 babies will begin to arrive on April 28th! It will take 4 days to finish the stocking. (These smiley faces are about all I can do!) In addition, we have had the best fishing and the most wonderful folks visiting this past week. And let me tell you about one exceptional family. Mike Baria and his wife, from Ohio, came down and rented a pontoon boat and they brought Mike's Dad from Cocoa Beach. Dad caught a beautiful 6lb. 4oz. bass and they put her back! Dad Baria had a terrific day on the water and what a lovely family they were! We also had Joy and John and their family from West Palm, including Judy and Georgia and Jimmy. All had a great time and caught fish too. Roxy and Marc Anderson had a boatload when they went home. Specks, catfish, bass and bluegill, and Roxy caught the most. She told me to say that! Neighbors are catching shellcrackers and specks and catfish and bass and WOW, need I say more? Our good friend, Charlie Serio is here this week, and I will bet he catches a bunch of bass. Folks used shiners, but also, we are still in the "toad" mode, and they wil hit them every time in the grass along the lake. The west side has been much better than the north or east side, and the bass are beautiful. Won't be around for 2 weeks for the next report. Going cruising next Saturday and will be gone for 2 Sundays. If Joe takes names,. I will try to get one out on the 5th. It's CRUISIN' TIME for my friend, Judy and me. So--hang in there until I do get back on line for the reports, and keep up the good fishing. God Bless. |

Well, guys! Considering that this is a new and strange method for me to get a report out, just bear with me, considering that you know that I am computer "not too smart"!! Because my memory is so short, I will have to negate last weeks' report and just let you in on the latest happenings! We have had great fising for the past 10 days or so! There are a lot of bass and panfish everywhere! I don't honestly know what happened to the specks. My neighbor, John, diligently fished for them and he is pretty successful, but he is about the only one I know of, and he fishes only the canals here in the village, jigging in the weeds. He has caught some pretty nice fish, but not a limit at any one time. We had the Cocoa Beach Bass Masters Club here on Saturday. They come at least once a year, and I have to say that they are a pleasure to see here. They take pretty good care of their fish, and they take them back out into the lake after weigh in. With the exception of a few guys who need new bags that don't leak, the fish looked to be in good shape. Eleven boats fished and brought in 54 fish. The largest was just under 6 lbs. but again, they all looked like footballs-so fat and healthly! Would you believe that I can't find my sheet with the winners on it? Yeah, but I remember names pretty well! The 1st place was Joe Benton and he had almost 17 lbs. 2nd was Walt Sandowski, and his weight was just a bit below Joe's. 3rd Place, I think, was Rick Jenkins. It was a good day! And, I have some news on the fish stocking! Joe and I have been invited up to Webster on the 22nd of this month to visit the hatchery and see what process is being conducted with regard to our 65,000 babies! Then, the actual stocking will be about the 2nd week of May! I'll try to let everyone know when I get a date! To say the least, we are so excited! I think the site wil be up and running in the next couple of days. My host is working really hard! Bear with us! Till next week, good fishing and God Bless. |
